Lagos chief judge Atilade loses N7 million to alleged fraudster Sulaimon Aminu

- The alleged fraudster, Sulaimon Aminu, is currently being remanded at the Kirikiri prison in Lagos state
- The police said Sulaimon Aminu did not commit the alleged crime alone
- The suspect was tried at the Ebute-metta Chief Magistrate Court
The chief judge of Lagos state, Olufunmilayo Atilade, has reportedly lost the N7 million to an alleged fraudster, whose name has given as Sulaimon Aminu.
Aminu is now cooling his heels at the Kirikiri prison after an Ebute-metta Chief Magistrate Court ordered him remanded.
The charge sheet that detailed the allegation said Aminu and other suspects still at large committed the crime bet ween January and March 2017 after they conspired among themselves to commit the alleged fraud.
According to the police, the suspect defrauded Atilade of the said N7 million, which was paid to him for building plan approval and which he allegedly refused to remit to the account of the state government.
The Point reports that the suspect then allegedly went ahead to forge revenue receipt of Lagos state government to cover up his act.
The police says the offence is contrary to and punishable under sections 411, 334(1), 365(1), and 314(1)(A)(B) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
After hearing the case, Chief Magistate AO Salawu ordered that the suspect be remanded for 30 days, until September 5, for trial
